After a year-long feasibility study in 2010, CSFP launched its Campaign for 10,000 Children in 2011. Our goal is to issue 10,000 new, four-year scholarships by 2016. With the tremendous demand from low-income Philadelphia families for their children and the availability of more than 10,000 empty school seats in quality area private and parochial schools currently, the need to scale our scholarship program is clear.
We are pleased to report that CSFP has raised more than $18 million in pledges and gifts for our Campaign for 10,000 Children, including pledges of $5 million from Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools/Independence Mission Schools, $2.5 million from the Maguire Foundation, and $1 million each from the Lenfest Foundation and Mrs. Dorrance Hamilton.
CSFP is very grateful for its many supporters of the Campaign for 10,000 Children. Click here for a list of Campaign donors to date.
In June 2012, CSFP awarded the first set of 2,000 scholarships under our Campaign to a group of very excited and appreciative Philadelphia families at Citizen’s Bank Park. We plan to award an additional 2,000 scholarships in Spring 2013, but we need your support to ensure 6,000 more children are served.
We believe that CSFP is one of the most important solutions to families seeking quality educational outcomes for their children. Please join our Campaign for 10,000 Children and help a Philadelphia child, family and neighborhood to succeed.
