CSFP - Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) Application for 2013-2014 School Year
Scholarship Program Overview:
CSFP will be issuing a limited number of new scholarships under the OSTC program. The eligibility requirements are different than our regular, four-year scholarship program.
Who's Eligible?
To be eligible for the CSFP/OSTC scholarship, students must meet the following:
- Reside within the City of Philadelphia AND live within the attendance boundaries of a low-achieving school as determined by the PA Department of Education. Click here to view the list of low-achieving schools. CSFP will require you to provide proof of residency if you are selected.
- Meet income eligibility scale. If you are selected for a scholarship you will be required to provide your 2012-1040 tax form and/or 2012 public assistance statements.
- Enter grades kindergarten through eighth in fall of 2013 in an OSTC participating private school.
How are CSFP/OSTC scholarships issued?
CSFP will be issuing these OSTC scholarships by random lottery, to be held in early March. Winners of this lottery will be notified by mail in mid-March. All scholarships issued will be for a maximum of $3,000/or up to tuition charged and are one-year awards only. If your family is chosen, all eligible children in your family will receive tuition assistance grants (up to a maximum of three (3) children per family). As funding permits, CSFP will provide additional scholarship awards to OSTC lottery winners for subsequent years, on a preferred basis (provided the family continues to meet our program requirements), up to a maximum of four-years. CSFP requires a minimum family co-payment of $500 per year towards tuition. Families are responsible for enrolling children in the private school of their choice – CSF Philadelphia will pay the awarded scholarship portion of the tuition directly to the designated OSTC participating school. * Families are permitted and encouraged to apply for both CSFP's regular, four-year scholarship program and the OSTC program. However, families cannot be eligible to receive funds under both scholarship programs.
